Transforming Spaces, Enhancing Lives

Groves Architects is a small design-led practice located in Gargrave, North Yorkshire. Established by Robert Groves, a Chartered Architect with over 35 years of experience, and later joined by co-director Laura Goodrick, Dip Arch, RIBA, the practice has developed a particular expertise in design and planning within North Yorkshire, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lune Valley, and Cumbria. Our aim is to create elegant, functional designs that are a fitting, unique response to the site, clients' brief, and budget. We achieve this through a careful understanding and controlled use of proportion, space, and light, combined with a good knowledge of building practices and craftsmanship. Sustainability is also a key aspect of our designs, focusing on material solutions, carbon emissions, and renewables.

Our Expertise

We have extensive experience in various sectors, including high-quality private residential architecture, commercial mixed-use developments, rural social housing, and schools. Robert's previous work has spanned over three decades, with a specialization in high-quality private residential architecture. Laura, on the other hand, has a special interest in renewable technologies and conservation architecture. Together, we bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each project.

Services Offered

Our services include the design and planning of new houses, barn conversions, listed building renovations and extensions, commercial new builds, and renovations. We also offer services for garden offices, full house remodelling, and extensions. Our portfolio showcases a range of projects, from contemporary extensions to traditional listed building renovations, demonstrating our versatility and commitment to quality.
