Our Services

Design

Our design process begins with a thorough briefing session with the client to establish project aims. This is followed by an initial concept design stage, known as Work Stage A, which involves a full site survey and sketch design phase. This stage sets the foundation for the subsequent work stages, providing a solid foundation for the project's development.

Planning & Applications

As the project progresses, we transfer the survey information and concept designs to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. CAD drawings provide accurate representations of the concept and can be used for consultation with local authorities and estimation of price by contractors. If required, we can assist with the submission of planning applications and consultation with planning authorities to acquire necessary permissions.

Construction

Throughout the construction phase, our team is committed to providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth and efficient process. We can advise on contracts and appointments using standard RIAS and JCT contracts. Additionally, we can inspect works and issue certificates as contracts progress to completion and hand over, as required.

Our Expertise

As a chartered architectural practice, we possess the expertise and experience to tackle complex projects of varying scales and complexities. Our principal architect, Matthew Merrick, holds RIAS Charted status and brings over 25 years of experience in architecture and construction in Scotland to the practice. Ailteir Studio is registered with the Architects Registration Board and carries Professional Indemnity Insurance.
