At Ian H Bix Associates Ltd., we have been providing architectural design services for West Norfolk and the surrounding area for over 45 years. Our team, led by Ian Bix, a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (MCIAT), has an extensive background in architectural design and construction. Over the years, we have gained a reputation for our work in Nursing Care Homes, including new build and extensions to existing Homes. Additionally, we have experience in private extensions, barn conversions, public house extensions, and public visitor centre projects.

Our team consists of five staff members: four architectural technicians and an administrative secretary. We take pride in our ability to provide a personal and attentive service to each of our clients. With a proven track record of success, including local awards and recognition for various projects, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality architectural design services.

Our services include architectural design and planning, site surveys, sketch design, planning permission, technical documentation, and reports such as building regulation drawings, tendering, construction, and party wall agreements. We offer a free initial consultation and estimate, where we will visit your site, discuss your project requirements, and provide an estimate of costs for our services and any third-party services that may be required.

Our design process begins with a site survey, where we take detailed measurements of your existing home or plot. Once approved, we will finalize the drawings and submit them to the Local Authority using the National Planning Portal.

Throughout the planning process, we closely follow the progress of your application, checking the LA website and advising on any matters that need to be addressed. We understand the importance of ensuring that all necessary reports, such as ecology and arboricultural reports, are submitted to avoid delays in the application process.

Once planning permission is granted, we can proceed with the technical documentation and reports phase. This includes creating working drawings that meet UK building regulations and ensuring your design is compliant with these regulations. We work closely with experts such as structural engineers, energy assessors, and party wall surveyors to ensure that your project meets all statutory requirements.
