Business Details
We founded our practice in 1998 as Hansford Hornsby Architects, evolving into SALT Architects in 2004. Our awardwinning, RIBAChartered studio is based in Beverley, East Yorkshire. We pride ourselves on close, transparent relationships, ensuring an agreed communication strategy that keeps clients fully informed. Our team works collaboratively with approved consultants and contractors, guaranteeing seamless integration and the highest quality throughout every project. Over two decades of experience span residential upgrades, national heritage sites, ecological landscapes and community facilities. We have partnered with The National Trust, The RSPB, The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, The York Diocese and The Yorkshire Arboretum to preserve and enhance historic environments.

Helping thirdsector and community groups remains a core passion, and we champion early stakeholder engagement to produce robust feasibility plans that unlock funding. Successful examples include projects with Able and the Green Future Builders, the Sure Start Centre for PANDA, SOHOCO and the Scarborough skills village. Every project is led by one of our Directors, with enthusiastic, qualified teams delivering quality outcomes. As a RIBAChartered practice with YorConsult and Constructionline status, we meet stringent QA, environmental, equality and operational standards. We are committed to exceeding client expectations, ensuring each built environment adds lasting value and delight.
