About Tim Brown
The driving force behind Ashton Design is Tim Brown, a Chartered Architect with over three decades of experience.
Following his admission to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 1991, Tim honed his skills within various architectural practices across the North West, gaining valuable insights into diverse project types and construction methodologies. In 1992, Tim established his own practice, Ashton Design, drawing inspiration from a cherished family name dating back to the 1800s.
Tim's professional journey has included extensive experience working with historic buildings, a passion that led him to pursue specialist qualifications in architectural conservation. In 2013, he achieved Registration as a Conservation accredited member (CR) of the RIBA Conservation Register and is actively working towards full Registration as a Conservation Architect.
As an active member of his community, Tim serves on several committees and boards, including the Carlisle City Council Conservation Area Advisory Committee and Brampton Preservation Trust. He is also dedicated as a board member for Brampton Rural Housing Association.
Beyond his architectural pursuits, Tim embraces a spectrum of artistic and creative interests. He has exhibited his paintings, conducts art workshops for local primary school children, and actively participates in his local community theatre group.
