Business Details
We are ne gibson architects, and our practice evolved from the respected Richard Gibson Architects, a Shetland-born practice established in 1972. Building on this heritage, we bring decades of design and constructional knowledge to our work today. Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of place, with particular expertise in rural and island settings. We are committed to creating architecture that is relevant, purposeful and vibrant. We carefully consider each client, context and environment on every project. We take pride in delivering thoughtful, enduring architecture that responds appropriately to person, place and planet.
Our team instinctively knows what works well here when it comes to materials and design elements. We understand the light, the land and the weather, and are expert in considering how to co-exist with these elements. We listen carefully to our clients' briefs and take care to understand exactly what is wanted. Our hands-on approach and eye for detail have been described by our clients as excellent. We are happy to share our abundant pragmatism around ideas that might not work so well, ensuring stress is kept to a minimum. We look forward to continuing to bring new ideas, technologies, and design principles to each future project.
